Patrick + Kristin are married!!!

Wow – sorry for my long silence….my life, professionally + personally has been an especially busy one in the past month and a half…anywhoo…I’m back!

Oh ~ another FABULOUS wedding!! Patrick + Kristin live in California and were married here in Grand Haven Michigan, lucky for me ;) I LOVE shooting in urban locations, but never push my couples if it’s not what they want….but luckily….they were totally up for it! We had great weather and everything about their day was perfect. Did you see Kristen’s shoes??? soooo BOLD. loved them…and the back of her dress?? best one I have photographed to date! Email Issues….

I am so sorry! If you have tried to email me and it has bounced back…..or have been trying to reach me by email…..my email is on the fritz!!! It says it’s full, but won’t let me delete any!!! Very frustrating! I am currently working with my lovely hosting company to get it fixed as quickly as possible! Thanks so much for your patience…and if you need to email me, I have set up an alternative email that I will receive! Please use this one until further notice!

Oh – what a way to start the season!! I adore Jordan + Amy….and so does everyone they know, you should have heard their toasts! If you didn’t know them well…you’d want to! What a humble, selfless couple. Anyhooo! Sorry for starting out so mushy ;) It rained pretty much all day..we never got a break…but we made it, and didn’t melt! It was still a gorgeous day, and we still captured everything perfectly! Here are a few of my favorites! Enjoy my commentary below :)

Oh you know we had fun….just cause we were in CHICAGO!!! I love that city! We started off at their house in Lincoln Park and then ventured downtown to Lightology, a super creative store with a gorgeous rooftop deck. I seriously could have spent a few hours in that store….they even had a purple lit room! Then we went to more fabulous places with lots of color and texture….not hard to find in Chicago! I am usually so overwhelmed, it’s hard to choose! What a great close to the day to end around sunset with the beach and skyline….what a perfect session. **Jennifer get major bonus points for wearing an amazing dress and heels! I can’t wait to see you two again in September!

Baby Lennon…… | Howell Baby Photographer

…made us work for it!!! He did not want to sleep or be put down for at least an hour while I was there….but the fabulous thing is…you would NEVER know by his pictures! I think mom and I had sooo many ideas for him, and he knew it! We just relaxed and let him him calm down. I am just so in love with the things we captured…my all time favorite is the one of the 3 of them by the window…I even think baby Lennon is smiling! Is he not the most adorable baby…I think I’m a good judge..I see a lot! The pin was worn by the dad’s mom, years ago..so we had to include it. I hope you enjoy these creative newborn portraits!

So, I told you I had more hot mamma’s coming….here is the fabulous Kelli & Brian and they live in California, but were visiting family in town before the “no fly” zone. She is 33 weeks and looks AMAZING! We had so much fun shooting this session and they are so full of personality, as you can see below. So many of my clients make great clothing choices. If you have an upcoming session…please feel free to step outside the box, and wear that one item that you’re not so sure about…it’s usually the best choice :) Here are just a few of my favs…..I can’t wait to meet all their babies!

Grand Rapids Photography Workshop

I had so much fun teaching at my workshops two weeks ago! I teach because I genuinely want everyone to have their lives documented well. And if it’s with their own camera that’s fabulous! I’m glad I can help them learn how to capture their own memories! Here are a few of m faves from the weekend! Aaron & Kara…engaged

I cannot wait to shoot Aaron & Kara’s destination wedding on the New Jersey shore this fall! They met in Grand Rapids while attending school and now live in Kalamazoo…but Kara is from New Jersey originally. We started around downtown and then headed to a local carnival. I think these images are so fun..and you can tell in these who has the most energy (kara :o ) Tim (or timmy – as I call him) my hubby came and shot this session with me, as he shoots with me when he can and since he shoots all my destination weddings with me, I thought it would be great for him to meet Aaron & Kara at their session. We had a BLAST! ….and yes, I’m sorry Aaron, I had to include the yawning picture….only because you promised you were having as much fun as the rest of us!! Hope you two enjoy your preview!

meet :: Cristian + Emily…

They met in Ann Arbor at U of M and now live in St. Louis. They are getting married in Grand Rapids this July! I shot their engagement session on one of the last gorgeous days of fall a few months ago…and realized I never blogged it! There are obviously more sessions than I could ever blog…but I loved traveling around the city with them and I have a ton of favorites. And yes….the last picture is a GIANT ball pit – for adults! My lab thought I photoshopped them in! St. Louis has an amazing museum..the bus they’re sitting in, is hanging over the side of the building…safely of course! Hope you enjoy these too!
