Meet. the. Sopers. This family….makes our family happy and we ADORE them and are so glad to have them in our lives!! We had so much fun shooting in this vacant area….it felt kamakzi + fabulous!! Andy + Marcy are also most recently the founders of the Manasseh Project and are making some huge waves in GR educating others about local human trafficking.

Their kiddos are FULL of personality as you can see and I have NO idea where in the world they get those from….. I think every photo has what we’ll call “a punch of fun”….and that’s why we love them

The Krolls….where do I begin Jay + Jen are amazing people. Jen was one the first photographers I called 6yrs ago to help me take on the Whispers (NILMDTS) program here in Grand Rapids, and we did more sessions at the hospital that month than we wished we had. Jen has also spent much time over in Haiti volunteering after their huge tragedy, and now J+J have adopted a sweet little girl that needs a ton of medical care + attention….and both have spent countless hours at appointments + therapy and given so much of their time + family…to the restoration of this little one. They also have so many other people in their lives that they care for, and it’s life-giving. Jen’s nature + talent helped me find my love for weddings….and has taught me so much about photography, I really do appreciate the time she gave me so early on in my career. J+J Thank you so much for giving yourselves to so many of those around you, it’s more appreciated than you know. I am so thrilled to be able to give back to them by photographing those most dear. We shot their session on their new property that they will eventually build their home on, it was such a gorgeous place to shoot…which I am sure you will agree. Here are my favorites…

Oh what a fun couple + a fun day!! You will see how hilarious this group was Boy did they have some great moments…as most of my wedding do, but particularly some really funny ones They wedding was in downtown Kalamazoo, and the reception was at Cityscape, which is a gorgeous venue and they even gave up rooftop access for a few shots…thanks!! I hope you enjoy seeing some of my favorites from their wedding day…and I will leave commentary below

I love when my brides + grooms get down!!

It’s the epic wedding date of 2011…… 9.10.11 Who better than to spend the day with, but this adorable couple!! There were so many personal touches to this wedding, like Matt actually picking out the fabric to have the boutineers/ bow ties / hair pieces made….to every sign + font. This wedding was branded and adorable! Sarah’s shoes even have green bow toys on them to match Matt. The suspenders worn by the boys mimicked the ribbon they used on the details. Suspenders were a great plan for a hot wedding day (no jackets!) Really fabulous work for not having a planner!! I was really impressed. Sarah was doing well that morning when I met her in her room at the JW Marriott downtown, even though her custom designed diamond ring had been accidentally shipped to a different state 2 days before her wedding and she received a golden bee pendant instead — ahhhh! But her ring did make it, and the bee went on to her bouquet…a funny -now- memory. I also love when my brides + grooms dance…so enjoy those as well!
