Bryan & Jodi 9.13.08

March 13th, 2009 , Posted in Uncategorized

What an amazing couple and Jodi made the most beautiful bride!!  It was kinda of a rainy and windy day in the beginning, but gave us some great light during the reception and lit up the Van Andel Museum Lobby for the rest of the evening.  This is my third wedding here and have a 4th & 5th coming!   They had some delicious cupcakes….which I put the rings in!  Jodi also let me take all the formal photos in the old school train station (total bonus points!!)  You’ll see the guys in there.  Here are a *few* of my favorties!

Don’t freak out….

just a little change…I’ve been talking about it for a while, so most of you have been expecting this…

I am always encouraging new photogs to use their name in their branding…. if you can ~ I know there are some exceptions to the rule…but your name is remembered so well.  Many of my clients refer to me as Lisa Kae instead of my studio name…so I’m making the switch before it’s too late…

I told my last group of workshop attendees that I would be changing mine in the next few weeks.  I have been meaning to do it but…mainly waiting to come across some little piece of inspiration to lead the way…well I found one…yummy fonts and a little red heart (gotta have a little spice ~ but I just love my green & blue)  **BTW my hubby says if I paint one more thing green in my house he’s going to protest….just a little in love with green!  I have updated my wedding site and it’s almost finished…and I am working on updated my portrait website…since it hasn’t been done in a year and a half!!!

**SIDE NOTE** Abby one of my brides from Indianapolis….started a fun little blog about things she finds or fun furniture and is also going to be blogging about all her wedding details…and yesterday she started with her fabulous photographer ( *me*) and how it helped her remember all the details…and she did have amazing details …her engagement gallery and wedding are in my galleries, if you want to check them out.  Here is the link to her blog!  Thanks Abby!!!   …..and Justin and RyAnn should be up soon!!

WOA! I have plenty of options now….you guys really do read my blog….I feel the love! will get back to you later this afternoon!

ok…so the hardest age to photograph is around ages 1, 2, 3….so of course I am trying to teach that in my workshop this weekend….do you have any cute ones?? I need one…for like 20 minutes on Saturday. Send me a quick pic if you have one. I will give you what I shoot! Any bride wanna climb back in her dress for 15 minutes? I wanna see how many mini sessions I can fit in my workshop…the more practice the better. I do have three dresses (don’t ask why-i collect them) but there around a size 10, 8, and 6. Let me know! I already have a newborn~ thanks to my friend Betsy!

my poor little laptop…

December 13th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Seriously…I need to apologize. All the sessions I thought I would have proofed by the end of the weekend….are going to be delayed. Not only were my children and myself included sick the whole week…and I’m not just talking fevers and laying in bed all day..that would have been a cake walk…I’m talkin’ ALL the other stuff too….yea – you know what I mean….

Now, in some small way, I am glad it happened this week and not the week we will spend with family at Christmas…because that happened 3 yrs ago…and everyday we woke up someone else had it…overlapping a few days ( I never got it) we even had a large metal bucket that was thrown out at the end of that week…because everyone had used it..it was metal… We could hear it upstairs….someone running …then the metal bucket clanking on the floor….then followed by a flush…I can laugh about this now as I write this..hystericaly actually…it really was a “family vacation” movie situation.

All that to say, on top of all of that, my laptop (my main editing machine…) screen stopped working on Thursday…and I had to bring it to the apple hospital. Great news! They can fix it in store – yea! …except it will take 5-7 days. I tried to bribe the apple genius…with a large tip to get it done early…no luck. I do have my desktop, but it is 3 times slower….and is soooo frustrating to work on. But I will be working my but off as soon as they return it to me! I apologize…but this error, was actually not my fault! – just apple’s.

Thanks for understanding! **I will have time to blog a bunch of weddings that I’ve finished, but haven’t had a chance to blog….**
