Basic Photography Boot Camp

When ~ Saturday, February 4th @ 9:30-12:30

What’s covered???? ~ This morning workshop is for the new photographer who wants to learn how to understand their camera, and basic natural lighting techniques. You will understand how to shoot in manual by the time you leave and the skills needed to master that on your own with practice. You will also be shown basic editing skills in entry level editing programs. It doesn’t matter what type of camera you have, you will still learn how to use it! This is an interactive class!

Advanced Photography Bootcamp

When ~ Saturday, February 4th @ 1:30-4:30

Cost ~ $350 *includes drinks, healthy snack + mini booklet

What will I learn?? ~ We will cover all basic camera modes briefly, to make sure we’re on the same page. But this class will concentrate more on lighting and subject interaction, + technique. I will show you how I shoot and interact with my subjects, and post-camera workflow to intermediate editing techniques in Aperture + Photoshop. We will have child/adult model for practice as well, depending on class’s subject interest.

One~on~One Bootcamp

When ~ Saturday, February 4th @ 5-8pm **55min time slots 5-6p / 6-7p / 7-8p **3 available ~ $125 for workshop attendees ~$175 for non attendees

….these time slots are available for the evening following the workshops for those who may or may not have attended and would like a more in depth / portfolio review / topic of your choice

This workshop is for the photographer who understands how to use their camera, is portfolio building, and would like to start a photography business.  We will cover all elements from the basic bootcamp very briefly, to make sure you’re using your camera for all its worth  We will concentrate more on how I shoot and interact with my subjects, how to shoot what you love, marketing, and workflow to editing like a pro .  We will have a few child/ adult models for practice as well!

I had so much fun teaching at my workshops two weeks ago! I teach because I genuinely want everyone to have their lives documented well. And if it’s with their own camera that’s fabulous! I’m glad I can help them learn how to capture their own memories! Here are a few of m faves from the weekend! I had never met these two little girls or the newborns (5 + 6 days old) so they were a fun example. Have a great week!

Here we go! An all day wedding workshop! At a real wedding! How?? I have one amazing couple who has granted us all permission to be a witness their day! We will have one meeting in May, and early Saturday before the wedding, and several teaching opportunities throughout the day!

We are also working with some amazing event designers and vendors….to make this a one of a kind event to the Midwest! I will share specifics of “who” next week! I am so excited to announce this…and I know some of you have been DYING to sign up! Well – it’s officially time to sign up!

So, I did post this a few days ago…but my blog was acting up and deleted it?! These are a sampling of the great time I had shooting at my workshops last weekend at the new studio!!! I had so much fun meeting all of you and know you all walked away with a little more knowledge and inspiration! Because these workshops are so popular – and already have inquiries for the next one – I have one more planned this year and will not have another until spring.

The next will be *basic* November 6th @ 2-7p and *advanced* november 7th @9-6p sign up is on the blog, under payments!

**On another note — I have been asked by a few to do “portfolio” workshops, or trash the dress workshops….so I would like to present the idea and see what serious interest I have. Here’s the deal – it would be similar to the video on my wedding site. We would have 5 brides (real & models), professional bobbi brown make-up & hair, and as always – fabulous *sometimes risky* locations to shoot, with guaranteed individual time with each model. I will arrange everything, you just show up and shoot! Why? **these are my favorite! Cost ~ $350 *max 7 photogs – no exceptions – *this will need to be paid at the time of sign up – I will not save spots….Sign up is not available yet – but I would like you to email me if you’re interested….and we’ll go from there. Possible dates are September 27th or October 18th *I always do these on sunday because most places I would like to shoot are not being used.
