I had such a great time with Dave + Elisha earlier this week!! It was a tad chilly, but the lighting was to die for….a good trade off We started off in an apple orchard to keep warm + cozy…and even sip on some adorable pineapple soda…I couldn’t pass those up when I found them. Elisha brought along her painting supplies and they had some good clean fun with that…and what would a session be with out paintbrush mustaches???? I told them they would get bonus points for going along with my silly idea…well done you two! Aren’t they adorable??? You can see that we found amazing light everywhere we went…that’s really where the magic is….and of course a couple that’s incredibly in LOVE….love, love, love. I am so encouraged to be meeting all these amazing committed couples and feel blessed to be apart of capturing it for then to remember and show their kids in years to come. I can’t wait to shoot you two again at your wedding in a few months, you’re naturals in front of the camera!!

Brad + Lence | West Palm Beach Wedding Photographer

My dear friend Brad got married in West Palm Beach, Florida where he lives…to an amazing women named Lence last October, and I am so thrilled that I was able to capture it for them! My dear friend Lydia, who also lives in WPB did all of their floral work and a lot of the detail / craft / coordinating along with the bride and a few other helpers

They’re wedding was at a quaint little bed + breakfast and it was adorable. Lence’s shoes + dress are amazing!! I love them. just. love them. Brad got ready at his friends home…where Lence then met him for their “first look”….which also happens to be the exact same place they met. Right there. On the patio, next to that house, at a friends party. How romantic that each chapter started in the exact same spot!!

My dear friend Matt officiated their wedding + did a fabulous job and…yes, you are seeing correct, for their symbol of a “unity” during their ceremony … they mixed chocolate syrup into milk…and….drank it with curly straws. A~DORABLE!!! Then at the very end…we snuck out to the hotel down the street for a few more fun pics….enjoy some of my favs!!

I have had this basket for about 2 yrs. First it was in my house, holding random items….then one day as I was cleaning it out and starring at it…I said – this is the perrrrrrfect mini hot air balloon basket!! And ever since the giant balloon became popular in photos, I have been trying to invent another use for it;) This was the perfect marriage of my two ideas!! Along comes the perfect little one year old to be my balloon rider AND we’re set! I think they turned out, just adorable!! Then of course some pics of the rest of the fam…which always feel chaotic…and mom + dad keep saying “did you get any?” OF COURSE – promise Thank goodness for …rover, rover, send Miles right over …and the tricycle was a last minute add on – wee ones always seem to find that as they creep in my office when I’m not looking

…and then you know the session is really over, when the older sibling grabs his blankie + sipppie cup.

These two are adorable!!!! Katilin’s smile~infectious! I truly enjoyed photographing this crew DO YOU SEE her SHOES??? I repeat…DO YOU SEE HER SHOES??? glitter bottom + slight boot top = fabulousness!!! I wanted them!! Lovely choice Kaitlin This day was flawless and beautiful. The ceremony + reception was at St. John’s Inn in the Novi / Plymouth area in Detroit. I hope you enjoy seeing all my favorites!!

Holy cow~ what a way to start off my 2012 engagement sessions!! We had so much fun! D + S are from a slightly warmer climate (*hot-Lanta aka – Atlanta) and we had a crazy, windy, cold day… and in spite of that, they did amazingly well We had a few indoor plans as well, so it was a good mix! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding that will be on their families property under a willow tree….*DREAMY* I know you love seeing my favorites below…these two have an undeniable connection. *nice work you two

This day started quite dreary, as you can see the weather was crazy!!! These were taken just down the road from Erin’s family beachfront home. I braved these two photos from my sunroof Inside though, it was warm + magical. You know everyone’s going to look amazing when RACHEL is there doing make-up! Then…Erin’s hair….is that not the BEST way to wear curls? and it stayed perfect like that all day. not. fair. They opted for a “first look” before the ceremony, which we did inside….how lucky did they get to give us two amazing views and the gorgeous window….the perfect setting to practice their first dance We had found an amazing building between their house + the venue to shoot some great shots of them…but it was so windy and cold…it was too difficult, but then….we found an open door to that building and – HOLY COW…perfect, you can’t plan, that type of room + lighting…..is what we found….and no wind YUM!!! Their wedding was supposed to be outside on the grounds of Mill Creek Barn…but given the weather conditions, it was moved inside. This may seem like a small change to an event planner…but throw in a power outage + the whole place running on generators….without the bride knowing….that’s an award winning planner + staff!!! Erin’s details and events were amazingly coordinated by Mandi Buckland from Element Event Design and it was ALL so fabulous. Her + her crew were amazing. Everything was stunning….and Dale + Erin didn’t miss a BEAT. They looked amazing. Below is just a few of my favorites!

Meet. the. Sopers. This family….makes our family happy and we ADORE them and are so glad to have them in our lives!! We had so much fun shooting in this vacant area….it felt kamakzi + fabulous!! Andy + Marcy are also most recently the founders of the Manasseh Project and are making some huge waves in GR educating others about local human trafficking.

Their kiddos are FULL of personality as you can see and I have NO idea where in the world they get those from….. I think every photo has what we’ll call “a punch of fun”….and that’s why we love them

The Krolls….where do I begin Jay + Jen are amazing people. Jen was one the first photographers I called 6yrs ago to help me take on the Whispers (NILMDTS) program here in Grand Rapids, and we did more sessions at the hospital that month than we wished we had. Jen has also spent much time over in Haiti volunteering after their huge tragedy, and now J+J have adopted a sweet little girl that needs a ton of medical care + attention….and both have spent countless hours at appointments + therapy and given so much of their time + family…to the restoration of this little one. They also have so many other people in their lives that they care for, and it’s life-giving. Jen’s nature + talent helped me find my love for weddings….and has taught me so much about photography, I really do appreciate the time she gave me so early on in my career. J+J Thank you so much for giving yourselves to so many of those around you, it’s more appreciated than you know. I am so thrilled to be able to give back to them by photographing those most dear. We shot their session on their new property that they will eventually build their home on, it was such a gorgeous place to shoot…which I am sure you will agree. Here are my favorites…
