woa….I feel like I have been out town forEVER~ and am digging myself out of my pile of emails and voicemails….thanks for being patient

Here is the beautiful wedding of an adorable couple who currently live in California.  Kelli loves Yoga, so even without the west coast scenery, they decided to start their day with some relaxation…and it was..*did you know the room temp is kept at like 78 degress and hotter for other classes??  hotness    I loved the Salon Kelli picked…. not only for their beauty skillz…but they had a ton of  WINDOWS..and great colorful decor!!  Any photog knows, that’s not always the case, and it was refreshing.  I love the room Kelli got ready in because I was able to hang her dress in the shutters of the windows – and it looked Californian.

I adored the flowers Kelli found on Etsy for her hair ~ best I’ve seen.  I had the fabulous Kelly Braman shooting with me and took on the ‘boys’  - we had a ton of fun shooting together – thanks Kelli!   How cute is the antique car Kelli reserved for their getaway?!  I’m pretty sure it was a surprise…Brian works for BMW, so he has a little car thing goin’ on  Kelli is a senior accountant…so I thought money would make a great ring shot – thanks to the guest who graciously handed me a $100 bill **that I promised to return** …and i did*  The last dancing photo is a tribute to Kelli..breaking it down, I love when brides and grooms just enjoy their night dancing….and Kelli take the cake on this one!  Enjoy the crazy amount of photos I chose below….

Well….yes, the blog is still alive ~ even though I haven’t posted in over a month I was plagued with a little H1N1, not a great time to be slowed down…but I think I may have recovered!

I new I was going to like Tracy before I met her… from all of our emails and phone conversations. It was so great to shoot Tracy and her family, look at them…aren’t they fabulous! *and her puppy is cute too! I can’t wait to meet their little one Here are a few of my favorites….

Not that I don’t love Grand Rapids- I do…but when you’re looking for different places to shoot and the per capita of photographers here…well, that doesn’t leave much! So Chicago – as well as many other cities…put me into visual overload and I love every minute of it! So when Kristen wanted a Trash the Dress session…(aka-”you spent way to damn much on that dress to only wear it once” session I immediately volunteered to shoot in Chicago where she lives!! You can see we found fabulous locations and yummy light ….an afternoon of perfecta for Kristen’s dynamite modeling skillz….enjoy a taste of my favorites ~

ps…you CAN’T miss all her fabulous shoes….even on the taxi!

I adore Abby and her family. Her daughters are adorable. We first met when she attended my FIRST paid wedding….(James & Lisa) and then called me for portrait work. They live in Auburn Hills, and we have done a few sessions here in GR as my studios change, and have done a few on their side of the state. This may be my favorite yet! I think you’re still in Disney World…but here is your preview!

There are still mini sessions at my studio available…it can be family, your kids, anniversary session, belly session….

If you just have to have more time than that…please let me know so we can get your session scheduled ASAP. Any session scheduled after Thanksgiving will not be able to get any prints or digital negative before Christmas….

If you loved my last session…but wanted a little more edge…this is the family. Heather tells me on the phone “I am going to wear my hair all messy and bring a corset and a bright cocktail dress…” ..and I said….”I’m IN!!!” Their little man had sweet leather bomber jacket he was going to wear shirtless, but it was a bit hot, so we left it off! I had so much fun shooting in Florida, there are so many bright walls and color everywhere. Here are a few of my faves!

Here are a just a few faves….

I never thought I would need a blog post with a part one and a part two….but 30 photos later…I wasn’t even to the reception yet!! This was THE most amazing wedding, with the most down to earth, naturally happy bride and groom, and was not surprised when they surrounded themselves with people of the same kind on their wedding day. It was an honor to witness this wedding, and photograph it as well! My husband Tim shot this wedding with me – as he has many others, so this post includes shots from each of us. I will write more on events and locations in my part two post! ***do you see her shoes??!!! I know you will fall in love with this wedding too…

Oh yes, it’s that time of year!  Here’s the skinny – daylight is shrinking by the day, weekend dates are hard to come by with my schedule and yours…so we have the mini session!  I even have a funky mantle *for a different take on the traditional family photo-all crazy ideas welcome*   I even have a tire swing hanging in my studio!!  It’s warm and bright in my studio – so no need to just wear sweater & scarves – but anything brightly colored is welcome!  Don’t you want your holiday photo to stand out??!!  It can be the whole fam or just the kids!  The details are below…
