now~ by family session~ I mean that we took pictures of everyone in the family….I would never try to get family shots for an entire session – we would all be ready to be committed at the end of our attempts!! These fabulous ladies are from lansing and I usually visit them – but I thought the new studio was a great reason for them to come see me! I am so glad- I love every one of these shots! There adorable outfits are a huge thanks to grandma – can she be my grandma?? Terri – I am coming for those shoes- I know where you live! She was scared I was only taking pictures of her shoes..I promised her I wasn’t. Anywhoo – enough blabbering…..enjoy!

Yep – this is wedding blog catch up week -

What an amazing couple! I had so much fun shooting their wedding. Dave & Mackenzie are both teachers…so that’s why they’re ring shot includes pencils! They were married in Zeeland and had their reception at the BOB. I absolutely love when grooms give their bride a note on their wedding day…i think MacKenzie is adorable here reading hers…
I loved their wedding colors….and that’s why I decided to use this blue tiled wall – which I know is a tad over used, but with those bridesmaids dresses – I just couldn’t pass it up! enjoy this little sampling..I spent way toooo long picking which photos to show you!

So, I did post this a few days ago…but my blog was acting up and deleted it?! These are a sampling of the great time I had shooting at my workshops last weekend at the new studio!!! I had so much fun meeting all of you and know you all walked away with a little more knowledge and inspiration! Because these workshops are so popular – and already have inquiries for the next one – I have one more planned this year and will not have another until spring.

The next will be *basic* November 6th @ 2-7p and *advanced* november 7th @9-6p sign up is on the blog, under payments!

**On another note — I have been asked by a few to do “portfolio” workshops, or trash the dress workshops….so I would like to present the idea and see what serious interest I have. Here’s the deal – it would be similar to the video on my wedding site. We would have 5 brides (real & models), professional bobbi brown make-up & hair, and as always – fabulous *sometimes risky* locations to shoot, with guaranteed individual time with each model. I will arrange everything, you just show up and shoot! Why? **these are my favorite! Cost ~ $350 *max 7 photogs – no exceptions – *this will need to be paid at the time of sign up – I will not save spots….Sign up is not available yet – but I would like you to email me if you’re interested….and we’ll go from there. Possible dates are September 27th or October 18th *I always do these on sunday because most places I would like to shoot are not being used.

Meet Amy & Phil….

Amy is the mother of three young kids…Phil is a youth pastor in Zeeland – yep, that’s fantastic all by itself….
After a session with Amy’s entire extended family…she says to me, “I want some of just Phil and I.” …..not a second later~ Phil threw her over his shoulder, and ran into the water with her….in front of her entire family and their oldest son….he’s the one on the left! How cute are they?!?! This is a photo worth blowing up…it says so much – on the new studio wall it goes.

You guys are quick! I have two spots left in my advanced workshop and 5 spots left in the basic! I may have one more in the fall—-but I am really not sure and haven’t set any dates yet. Let me know if you have any questions!!!

What an elegant wedding, with such fabulous people. Meet Sam…who has a degree in Bomedical Science, who moved to NYC to pursue her love of jewelry design..check her stuff out here….you’ll see she wore her own design for her wedding, as did all of her bridesmaids. She is an amazing artist. Her wedding day was threatened with rain…but, as it usually does for all of my weddings…(I have good luck) it stopped and the celebration began! It took place in sw michigan at the residence of one of their closet friends, whose home her father designed. There were orchids everywhere, including each cupcake, in addition to a touch of island accents. There guests were graced with the music of a gentleman who played with Jimmy Buffet for many years….he was fantastic. There was one catch, Sam wanted NO posed pictures…I did manage to steal the two of them for a a minute or two, just to get a few….other than that, I was a fly on the wall! I rented a lensbaby for this wedding, but realized I’m not a huge fan, but got a great ring shot with it. We got a few pics with the horses, but both of them kept wanting to eat her dress ~ that was no good! **and let me just add…that I was in love with that red wood floor….and plan on doing that in my next house! Enjoy my favorites….

Oh what fun!! I met Justin and RyAnn at Ben & Abby’s wedding in August last year…and Justin secretly hired me to shoot their NY Eve wedding, even though they had already booked a photographer, and politely asked for their deposit back….gotta love the love! We had breakfast at Wolfgangs when they came into town, and I had such a blast with all their friends and family at their wedding, and then this spectacular fun afternoon with grungy lovliness…thanks so much!

I have had so many fabulous engagement sessions….and this one was no less than perfect. What an adorable couple. These two are high school – or should we say elementary sweethearts….and how fun that Don actually proposed to her there!!! So to complete the grade school goodness, we HAD to shoot there! Then we headed to the beach where they spent alot of their summers…..

I went to pick out a bunch for the blog here…but after I watched the slideshow ~ with a brand spankin new song I grabbed from iTunes tonight ~ after downloading some more Michael Jackson songs ~ and I just fell in love with the whole stinkin thing and said ~ ” YES!!
